Argentina’s nominal GDP is the 31st largest in the world; but when purchasing power is taken into account, its total GDP makes it the 23rd largest economy in the world.
The country is currently classified as an Upper-Middle Income Country or as a secondary emerging market by the World Ban Politics of Argentina takes place in a framework of a federal presidential representative democratic republic, where the President of Argentina is both head of state and head of government, and of a multi-party system.
Executive power is exercised by the government. Legislative power is vested in both the government and the two chambers of parliament. The Judiciary is independent of the executive and the legislature.
